Soccer-Neymar: what can we expect from Brazil forward at World Cup 2022?

When Brazil takes on Serbia in the opening match of their quest for a record-extending sixth World Cup victory on Thursday in Lusail, Qatar, all eyes will be on Neymar, who may be taking part in his final championships.

The 30-year-World old's Cup highs and lows are shown below:

Neymar made his international debut in 2010 against the United States and scored a goal, but since then, his career has been a rollercoaster in which he has battled to live up to lofty expectations and has been frustrated with Brazil.

Despite creating a reputation for himself in the Santos first team and being selected for the national team, coach Dunga left the striker out of the team for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa because he did not think the then 18-year-old was prepared for the biggest stage.

Neymar led Brazil's attack in the 2014 World Cup on home soil, and after his move to Barcelona, he became well-known. However, the tournament would end in tears for the talismanic player.

Neymar, who had four goals in five games, suffered a fractured vertebrae in Brazil's victory over Colombia in the quarterfinals and was compelled to watch his teammates lose to Germany 7-1 in the semifinals.
