Neymar left with severely swollen sprained ankle in foul-plagued win over Serbia

Brazil's victory in its World Cup debut on Thursday may have come at a high price.

In a 2-0 victory over Serbia, Neymar received nine fouls and hurt his right ankle as a result. Later, his ankle was clearly and significantly swollen. Later, the team physician for Brazil confirmed that he had sprained it.

He will reportedly undergo testing on Friday to evaluate the extent of the injury, making it uncertain whether he will play in Monday's second group stage match against Switzerland and other games.

After being tackled by Nikola Milenkovic in the 80th minute on Thursday, Neymar departed the game. On the sidelines, he was given ice therapy, and it was observed that he had his face buried in his jersey.

As its best player sat on the sidelines for the final few minutes of the game, Brazil managed to win 2-0. Neymar stumbled into the changing rooms, exposing his injured ankle.

Tite stated, "We are certain Neymar will continue to play, that he will continue to participate in the World Cup.
