The jackpot for Tuesday night’s drawing of Mega Millions has increased to an astounding $785 million; should it be won, this prize will rank as the fourth-largest in the game’s whole history.

The award, if taken in cash, is now valued at an estimated $395 million. Since it was last won on October 14, the reward has rolled 23 times and was previously worth a total of $502 million until it was finally won. There were two winning tickets sold for the drawing; one was purchased in California, while the other was purchased in Florida. The drawing for Tuesday night’s jackpot of $785 million will take place at 11 p.m., and it will be available to watch on the Mega Millions website on YouTube. Players also have the option of checking the MegaMillions.com website to determine the time at which the winning numbers will be made public.

Since a winning ticket was purchased in Illinois on July 29 and won a jackpot of $1.337 billion, Friday’s jackpot is the greatest it has been since then.

Mega Millions tickets cost $2 each, and the drawings take place on Tuesday and Friday nights at 11 p.m. each week. Participants in the Mega Millions lottery are required to buy a ticket for $2 that contains six numbers.

The first five digits may be any value between one and seventy, while the Mega Ball can be any value between one and twenty-five. According to the Mega Millions website, there are nine different ways to win a reward in the lottery game. The person who wins the jackpot must match all six of their numbers in order to claim the jackpot award. “We encourage people to keep the experience enjoyable by playing responsibly and within their means,” said Mark William Bracken, interim executive director of the Massachusetts State Lottery. “When playing Mega Millions and other lottery games, we encourage people to keep the experience enjoyable by playing within their means.” Participation in the Mega Millions lottery is open to residents of 45 states, as well as the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands. Tickets for the drawing that will take place on Friday may be acquired up until 10:45 p.m. on Friday.

If there are no people who are lucky enough to win the jackpot, the reward will be carried over to the next drawing. The odds of winning the jackpot are one in 302 million, while the overall odds of winning a prize are one in 24. Mega Millions has said that the odds of winning a prize are one in 24.

    The winning numbers from Friday night’s drawing were 1, 3, 6, 44, 51, and Mega Ball 7. One lucky player had a ticket that matched the first five numbers drawn, but it was missing the Mega Ball number. This winning ticket was purchased in Ohio and its current value is one million dollars.
