The Mega Millions jackpot is getting close to $1 billion as the big prize remains unclaimed.

The most recent Mega Millions jackpot was not won by anybody during Tuesday's drawing.

The amount that will be up for grabs in the next drawing is already close to one billion dollars.

A record $785 million was up for grabs in the drawing that took place on Tuesday night, but no one was able to match all six winning numbers.

The winning combination consisted of the numbers 25, 29, 33, 41, and 44, and the Mega Ball number was 18.

According to the administrators of the lottery, the prize for the next drawing will be worth $940 million.

Which would make it the fourth-largest jackpot victory in the history of Mega Millions.

Since the jackpot was last won on October 14, when a reward of $502 million was split between winners of tickets purchased in California and Florida.

The amount won in November's lotto was $2.04 billion, making it the highest prize ever won in the United States.

The winning Powerball ticket was purchased in Southern California by the happy winner.
