Mega Millions jackpot has surpassed $1 billion.

The jackpot for Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing is currently anticipated to be more than $1 billion.

Making this the fourth time in a little over four years that the big prize has been worth more than $1 billion.

On Friday, the jackpot was worth a whopping $940 million, but no one was able to match all five numbers plus the Mega Ball.

If there is only one winner in Tuesday's drawing, that person will walk away with around $568.7 million in cash.

 A player from South Carolina has staked their claim to it.

On July 29, someone from Illinois claimed a prize worth more than $1.3 billion.
