Mega Millions’ seventh jackpot run of the year continues with tonight’s drawing, Oct. 28. In the time since the last big jackpot win, the grand prize has quickly made its way to $64 million. Jackpot winners have the choice to take the cash value of the prize in a single payment. The lump sum cash value of tonight’s jackpot is $31 million, before withholding.
The most recent jackpot prize was hit on Oct. 14 at $502 million ($252 million cash). Two players on opposite ends of the country hit that jackpot with tickets purchased in San Jose, California, and Fort Myers, Florida.
Of the six Mega Millions jackpots awarded so far in 2022, the largest was $1.337 billion hit by a player in Illinois on July 29. That prize ranks as the second largest jackpot in the game’s history, and the third largest lottery prize ever won in the US.

The previous drawing on Tuesday was relatively uneventful, with no jackpot winner and no second-tier $1 million winners. In Pennsylvania, the largest prize won was $30,000 on a ticket sold with the optional Megaplier. That ticket matched four of the five white balls, plus the yellow Mega Ball. The Megaplier is a $1 ticket add-on that multiplies all prizes other than the jackpot. Without the Megaplier on the ticket, the prize would have been $10,000.
The winning numbers from Tuesday, Oct. 25, were 21-30-35-45-66 and Mega Ball 21. The Megaplier drawn was 3x.
