The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday’s lottery drawing has increased to an estimated $36 million, with a cash option valued at $21.4 million.
The winning numbers were: 2, 5, 29, 64 and 69. The Mega Ball drawn was 18, with a Megaplier of 3X.
While no one across the country hit Tuesday’s $20 million jackpot, a second-prize, $3 million ticket was sold at Tobacco Outlet on Main Street in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, lottery officials said. It matched five numbers but not the Megaball and was bought with the Megapler option for an extra $1, tripling the value of the ticket.
In New Jersey, one of the 11 tickets matching four numbers was purchased with the Megaplier and is worth $1,500. The other 10 are worth $500 apiece.
Tuesday’s winning numbers were: 10, 14, 25, 37, and 63. The Mega Ball drawn was 14, with a Megaplier of 3X.
Tuesday’s drawing was the first held since a ticket holder in Illinois won the massive $1.337 billion jackpot on July 30, the third-largest in U.S. lottery history.
The odds of a $2 ticket matching all the winning numbers are 302,575,350 to 1. Players have a 1 in 12,607,306 chance of a ticket matching five numbers but not the Mega Ball and winning at least $1 million.
Mega Millions drawings are held on Tuesday and Friday in 45 states, along with Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
