The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday’s lottery drawing has jumped to an estimated $30 million with a cash option valued at $14.9 million.
The drawing will be held at 10:59 p.m. and be televised on WABC-7 in New York City and Fox 29 in Philadelphia.
While no one across the country hit Tuesday’s $20 million jackpot, a pair of second-prize tickets matching five numbers but not the Mega Ball were sold. A ticket bought in Brooklyn, New York, is worth $1 million while one purchased in Georgia is valued at $3 million because it was sold with the Megaplier for an extra $1.
The New York ticket was sold at 3 Bros. Deli & Grocery on Bay Parkway in Brooklyn, lottery officials in that state said.
In New Jersey, 11 tickets matched four numbers. One was sold with the Megaplier and is worth $1,500. The other 10 are $500 tickets, lottery officials said.
Tuesday’s winning numbers were: 1, 15, 20, 44 and 67. The Mega Ball drawn was 23 with a Megaplier of 3X.
The odds of a $2 ticket matching all the winning numbers are 302,575,350 to 1. Players have a 1 in 12,607,306 chance of a ticket matching five numbers but not the Mega Ball and winning at least $1 million.
Mega Millions drawings are held on Tuesday and Friday in 45 states, along with Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is worth an estimated $550 million with a cash option of $277.5 million. It’s potentially the 17th largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history.
