LANSING, MI — The second largest lottery jackpot of the year and the 5th largest Powerball jackpot ever could be won Wednesday night as the grand prize for the Oct. 26 drawing is worth $700 million.
The cash option for tonight’s drawing is worth an estimated $335.7 million.
The jackpot could be even larger if ticket sales surpass expectations. If no one wins Wednesday night’s drawing the jackpot would likely become the 2nd largest in the game’s history.
The largest jackpot of the year was a $1.337 billion Mega Millions jackpot that was won in Illinois.

The Powerball drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. and will be broadcast live on the following TV stations throughout the state:

- WXSP-TV (MyNetwork TV)
- WLAJ-TV 53 (ABC)

The last players from Michigan to win a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot is the Wolverine FLL lottery club which claimed a $1.05 billion jackpot in March 2021. With their winnings, the group plans to give back to the community.
And while they were lucky winners, it’s smart for players to check their tickets immediately as a winner worth $1 million sold in Warren last year went unclaimed. The money instead went to the state’s School Aid Fund.
