According to the Michigan Lottery, a 70-year-old lady who has been a frequent player of Powerball has finally experienced the thrill of winning. Joyce Ewald of St. Clair Shores purchased the winning ticket, numbered 28-45-53-56-69 PB:20, according to a press statement from the Michigan Lottery dated December 5. Officials reported that Ewald won $50,000 since her numbers matched four white balls and the Powerball. According to the announcement, Ewald’s earnings were multiplied by three thanks to the Power Play, bringing her total to a cool $150,000. Ewald said, “I play Powerball often, and I’ve always hoped to win big.” It was a total surprise to me when I checked the winning numbers online after the drawing and discovered that I had won $150,000. The joy of victory is indescribable.
According to sources, Ewald will put her windfall to good use and save. She netted roughly $108,000 after taxes were deducted.
